Everyone is coming out with their list of emerging destinations, and we were happy to see the beautiful Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic, where our boutique PR agency represents four properties, featured both with tech companies and top tier media like the New York Times. The DR, as its called, was named to Gogobot’s Top Ten “rising star” rankings.

Gogobot is one of our most exciting clients. It is an award-winning travel web site and app that makes it easy to plan the perfect trip.  Gogobot uses a unique “tribe concept,” where members join groups of like-minded travelers. On the app, you can find the nineteen tribes, which include families, foodies, luxury, adventure, LGBT, outdoor, and wellness.  Our team, together with Gogobot, has secured a steady stream of coverage on this innovative travel planning tool, which enables travel enthusiasts to easily plan trips, and find places to eat, stay, and play, all on one site.

We are a boutique PR agency comprised of seasoned pros, and our clients include everything from technology to cuisine to hotels and tour companies, but our primary focus has been in luxury PR.  While we work on a regular basis with upscale travel and lifestyle publications, we also work with publications like Budget Travel, even for our upscale hotels and resorts, because everyone is looking to get the most from their dollar when planning vacations.

Over the years we have been able garner a wide range of coverage for our hotel clients in the Caribbean, notably Travel and Leisure, which has a special column for deals, and editors tell us readers pay close attention to that.  We have also had excellent exposure in The New York Times, including their end-of-the-year round-up of top destinations.  One of our hotels reported that guests mentioned that New York Times story in particular when they chose that property for their winter getaway.

Adventure Travelers Love the Dominican Republic

Here’s what Gogobot had to say about the Dominican Republic:

The Dominican Republic ranks highest with Gogobot’s Adventure Travelers Tribe. Apart from its numerous and affordable resorts, visitors are venturing out to see other aspects of this Caribbean country. Historic city centers like Santo Domingo and Santiago offer opportunities to explore the urban island’s sounds, tastes, smells and sights, while the smaller surrounding towns and villages are teeming with cultural and natural surprises. Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa is a great option for those looking for an all-inclusive resort.  For outdoor recreation and flora tours, check out the top attraction in Las Galeras – Playa Rincon.

What’s interesting about the Gogobot story is that they also highlighted places that are declining, but “worth a second look.”  Those included Bali, Puerto Rico and Marrakech, places where we have represented hotels for hospitality companies like the Four Seasons and Hilton International.  Also of interest was Athens, where surely your travel dollar can go far due to the financial situation there.

Let’s see what 2016 brings in terms of destinations to keep on your horizon!
