New York’s summer season is in full bloom and nowhere better than to see that than the New York Botanical Garden, where Frida Kahlo is very much having a fashion moment. The artist’s works, who was once married to Diego Rivera, is on display with her rich, enticing canvases. The beautiful exotic flowers that she wore in her hair are there to enjoy, as well.

For those around the city this holiday weekend, the new Whitney just unveiled a huge collection of paintings from their permanent collection, which were in storage. On Gansevoort Street, this just-opened Renzo Piano designed masterpiece of a museum is not to be missed.

NYC is so easy to get around by subway, bus, Uber or taxi, so you can hit lots of places in a day. There is a subway stop for the Bronx Botanical Garden. It takes about 30 minutes from midtown. Also uptown Manhattan offers the Cloisters, a medieval Church and garden that is an oasis in the city. The tapestries are unparalleled.

Have a great Memorial Day holiday everyone!
