It’s definitely good news for all of us in the top travel industry when people want to visit new places. And when travelers still wish to see countries that are ravaged by hardships? Even better. As a boutique PR firm owner, I work intimately with both small hotels and some of the most recognized and influential names in the travel market. That’s why I like hearing about travelers who want to leave the sanctity and comforts of their own homes, period. And according to a recent survey, at least 5,800 travelers want to.

Virtuoso, a network of travel agencies that creates content on traveling experiences, spoke to 5,800 people about their top 10 dream trips. The result is Virtuoso’s 2015 Travel Dreams Survey. After tallying these wish lists, Virtuoso generated a list that bodes well for our boutique PR agency. Why? Because Europe dominates the survey’s results and a majority of our clients are located in various European countries. I also have clients in North America and the Caribbean. And speaking of the Caribbean, it’s also well-represented in the survey, too.

What’s more, in addition to ranking high overall, Europe also took the number 1 spot: European river/canal cruises. Other highlights for our NYC PR firm are that travelers want to go on a Galápagos Islands expedition (number 9) and/or experience the Tahitian overwater bungalow (number 10). These trips all take place in the Caribbean. You can read the list below.

1.  European river/canal cruises
2.  World cruises
3.  Multigenerational travel
4.  Exploring the Greek Isles
5.  Australia’s highlights
6.  Italy’s Amalfi Coast
7.  Ireland’s castles and countryside
8.  A month in Provence
9.  Galápagos Islands expedition
10.  Tahitian overwater bungalow

I would also like to comment on those who voted for world cruises and multigenerational travel (numbers 2 and 3). From my experience of working with many travel companies, people who take part in either of these outings generally choose a route somewhere in Europe. If that’s the case, then I can safely say that Europe takes the top four slots in the survey. Not bad!

Top Travel PR Firm’s Past Client Located in Survey’s Top 1 Spot

Nikko Hotels, one of our NYC PR agency’s former clients, benefits from Virtuoso’s survey. Nikko Hotels has two facilities in Europe, including the Hotel Nikko Düsseldorf in Germany and Hotel Okura Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Both of Nikko’s facilities are also close to the Rhine, the second largest river in Central and Western Europe. This matters for this hotel group and my luxury travel PR firm because the Rhine is a body of water that tourists usually book cruises on. Again, that’s the number 1 spot!

On a side note, it’s also surprising that Greece made it in the survey at number 4. This is especially promising. As you all know, Greece has been dominating social media and TV stations with daily news coverage about its economic crisis. Even though the survey was taken before the country’s debt reached its highest point in July, Greece’s debt climate was still a looming issue at the time the survey was being created.

Here’s another plus for our PR firm in NYC. According to TravelWeekly.com, these results are from people who have the means to travel. These travelers also have no budgetary restrictions. Therefore, they’re more than likely to make these dreams in this survey a reality. In other words, this top 10 list could mirror how luxury hotel/travel companies in those areas actually perform this year. With the summer of 2015 already in full swing, it should be interesting to see how the rest of this year pans out and if the market matches up with these results.

Our PR top travel agency offers many creative marketing strategies with content from our “Travel PR” page that pops out just like a top 10 list. Similar to this one! Being in the PR business for so long, I understand just how beneficial carefully designed cause-related marketing plans can be to a PR campaign. Please feel free to call me directly.
